The Donate Life Family Fun Run is a non-competitive 5K run and 1K walk to raise awareness for organ, eye and tissue donation while benefiting The Living Legacy Foundation and Team Maryland, a group of transplant recipients who compete in the U.S. Transplant Games presented biennially by the National Kidney Foundation.
Competing in the U.S Transplant Games is not only a huge commitment physically, but also financially. Proceeds from the Donate Life Family Fun Run will help support Team Maryland athletes compete in the 2009 World Transplant Games in Australia and the 2010 U.S. Transplant Games in Madison, Wisconsin.
Who can participate?
ANYONE! All runners and walkers, dialysis patients, transplant recipients, organ donors, donor families, allied health professionals and Maryland residents are invited to come out and participate!

How much does it cost to register?
The registration fee before May 25, 2009 is $25 and $30 the day of the race. All registrants will receive a Family Fun Run t-shirt.
Teaming up for Life
Creating a team is a great way to participate in the Donate Life Family Fun Run. So, round up everyone you know, think of a catchy name and get ready to join in the fun on May 30th.
Forming a team easy.
1. Register online with a team captain through active.com
2. Start a fundraising team page through active.com
3. Each team captain will receive a team package which will include ideas on team building and fundraising.
Teams with 25+ members and raise more than $1,000 (in addition to the registration fee) will receive a Donate Life Family Fun Run hat. Additional prizes will be awarded to the team that raises the most funds, the team with the most members and the individual who raises the most funds.
T-shirts for teams registered by April 15, 2009 will be able by May 1 for pick-up. Teams are encouraged to customize the back of the t-shirts to honor and remember their loved one.
Volunteers needed for race day!
You can help the Donate Life Family Fun Run in a variety of ways. From pre-race office support, to man event day activities and coordinating other volunteers, your role is vital to the success of this event.
