There are many ways to get involve and raise awareness about the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation:
- Make a decision regarding organ and tissue donation and share your decision with your family and congregation. Say 'yes' to organ, eye and tissue donation when you obtaining or renewing your Maryland driver's license or state ID. You can also document your donation decision online at www.donatelifemaryland.org.
- Encourage your friends, and family to make a decision about organ and tissue donation and to share the decision with their loved ones. Refer them to the The Living Legacy Foundation or Donate Life Maryland for more information.
- Use correct terminology when discussing organ and tissue donation with your community members. Donor families have shared with Transplant Community their wish that suggested terminology be used when discussing organ and tissue donation.
- Share and provide organ and tissue donation educational resources. To request free brochures, stickers, pens, and other materials free of charge, please email communications@thellf.org.
The Living Legacy Foundatino also has specific programs and resources for specific audiences:
