Infinite Hope Scholarship

The Living Legacy Foundation of Maryland (The LLF) is proud to announce the 2018 Infinite Hope Scholarship Program. The scholarship is now open and accepting project submissions. High school seniors in The LLF's service area* may submit one project (see below for details).

The scholarship will be awarded to four winners who will receive $1,000 each. Please see below for instructions and rules regarding submissions.

As the organ procurement organization (OPO) for Maryland (with the exception of Montgomery, Prince George's, and Charles Counties), The LLF facilitates donation and transplantation in the area hospitals, provides donor family support, and educated hospitals and the general public about the life-saving power of organ, eye, and tissue donation.

We are passionate about saving and enhancing lives while honoring the legacy and generosity of our donors and their families.

Deadline:

Friday, May 18, 2018, 11:59 p.m.

Purpose:

While 95% of people say they support organ donation, only 54% are registered donors. There is a great need for donors, especially in multicultural communities.

Project:

  1. Pick one of the following communities and write an essay, no more than 1,000 words, about why that community should consider registering as organ, eye, and tissue donors:
    • Multicultural (African American, Hispanic, Asian-Pacific, Native American, etc.)
    • A faith community (Christian, Judaic, Islam, etc.)
    • A community you identify with (age group, hobby/sports, neighborhood, etc.)
  2. Describe three initiatives to further engage this community or group. For example, an information event for a soccer team, a brunch at a church, etc.

Rules:

Official rules can be found here.

Winners:

Winners ONLY will be notified directly and officially announced to public on TheLLF.org website and social media pages by June 15, 2018.

WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS.

 THANK YOU.
