Manager, Hospital Services

Laurel has worked at The LLF for over seven years, five as manager of Hospital Services (HS) and two as the hospital services coordinator for Western Maryland. The HS team works with hospital partners throughout the state of Maryland to provide education, facilitate communication, and ensure donation options are offered to families at the end of life.

Laurel led the council’s efforts to create an electronic health record resource guide, bringing together tools and guidance for OPOs to utilize with hospitals across the country.  Laurel, with the Action Committee, led the council’s efforts to engage the American Hospital Association, plan informative meetings and provide education to the HD community.

With over fifteen years of experience in the non-profit healthcare field, she has worked for the Make-a-Wish Foundation and the Muscular Dystrophy Association, assisting patients and families of those living with life-threatening illnesses. Through each of these organizations, she has gained experience in hospital and outpatient care while working with many healthcare providers.
