Clinical Manager, Organ Recovery

Marisa began working for the Living Legacy Foundation in September of 2008 as an Organ Recovery Coordinator. In March of 2012, she was promoted to the Clinical Manager position, where she has served ever since, providing daily oversight of the Organ Recovery Department and acting as the clinical expert when determining donor suitability, organ allocation, research and training.

Her career began in September of 2004 at the Washington Regional Transplant Consortium (WRTC) as a Clinical Recovery Associate I, responsible for abdominal allocation, providing Operating Room support, facilitating tissue discussions with families, and more. She rose through the ranks at WRTC, eventually becoming the Clinical Recovery Coordinator, facilitating onsite family discussions about donation, donor management, and hospital services.

Marisa is a dedicated member of the North American Transplant Coordinators Association. She actively participates in initiatives to further advance the organ donation community.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Delaware State University, and is a Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator.
